April 2024

After another busy year of happy holiday makers we have been down and done a bit of work ready for the 2024 season. There was a problem with the window in the second bedroom not shutting properly – due to it being left open, blowing back in the wind causing the hinge to buckle. This has been addressed with new hinges and we took the decision to add a window stay (restrictor) to stop this happening again and as there is a big drop from it to the patio below, it will make it safer if children stay in that room – the window will still open just not so far! Also the Juliet balcony doors have been adjusted to further stop winter draughts.

Our Welcome sign was missing, we found it damaged in the sideboard, so it has now been repaired and stuck back up again! The amenity pack has been upgraded and we now give you complementary Cornish Fairing biscuits, to go along with the tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk left for your arrival. In May last year we also had the kitchen splashback tiled, keeping it trendy!

Just before Christmas we had a water leak from the apartment above – luckily our cleaners found it and managed to get it sorted without too much damage, just a stain on the kitchen ceiling which has now been decorated out! We think the newly restuffed sofas and new padding/covered dining chairs look and feel great certainly adding to your comfort. Along with the new king mattress in the main bedroom, all is ready for your stay.

We have purchased some new games and left 3 Ordnance Survey maps for guests to use. Bought a new saucepan set and tided up the cutlery drawers. We do love hearing all your comments..so keep them coming! Have a fabulous holiday everyone…….

March 2023

Moving on from 2020 and that horrible stressful time for us all..

These last couple of years have been as busy throughout the summer as before and we will be checking this spring re any updating the apartment needs. We always like to hear from you as to what you think and try to accommodate where we can. This year we have purchased a new mattress for the main bedroom following guest comments, along with new curtains. The sofas have been restuffed as they were a tad saggy. Dining chairs recovered.
We now have a new 50 inch Smart Sony TV with all the normal players included, with voice control.

We will ensure the attractions/ dining page are up to date too.

Enjoy your time with us and enjoy that view!

Open for business….

July 4th has come and gone – another Independence day to celebrate for USA and here in the UK Holidays are now a Go Go! Cornwall is open for business….. the roads were pretty busy over the weekend but Newquay is coming back to life with holiday makers galore! Mind you may have to book tables at restaurants and possibly for pub meals too. Many shops have now re-opened and lots of local attractions are springing back to life too, you can find out which ones on their websites or visit Cornwalllive.com for more information. Take the Bowgie Inn, it has had a full refurbishment and looks fabulous!

As for the apartment; we have introduced a deeper clean between guest arrivals; brought forward departure and extended arrival times to allow this to happen; Installed a hand sanitiser unit in the apartment block entrance lobby and left a bottle in the apartment for each guest arrival. We have bookings up until the end of September, but please continue to check us out with our lettings agent Aspects holidays, by using the link on our bookings page – you never know there may be cancellations!

Whilst we have all been in lock-down, I bet the Cornish Flora and Fauna will have had a field day so it may just be more beautiful out there than normal, with wild flowers ablaze across the countryside and headlands.

2020 A New Year.. a new everything!

Just as we recovered from our New Year celebrations and were looking forward to a new season, the whole world turned upside down as the Corona Virus arrived. Everything changed for us all and holidays seemed like a distant dream, but we will recover and good times with family and friends will come back.

Whilst we’ve been in lock-down we have re-designed and launched our new website – Hope you agree it’s looking good. We had a successful season last year working with Aspects Holidays who are very professional and responsive to any guest requests. They are still working hard for us during this testing time, taking enquiries and bookings but working within government guidelines.

We already have some bookings in for the summer – which we hope will be able to go ahead. Once holidaying in UK is fully back on the agenda, please be assured that we will take all necessary measures to carry out a deep clean between guest arrivals.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon!
